Abstract

Increasing the social , economic , political and legal strength of women , ensuring newlineequal rights and opportunities to women and making her aware of her rights and also newlineincreasing her self confidence to take decisions of her own is Women Empowerment . newlineWomen empowerment is a multidimensional process which will enable a women to newlinerealize her full potential and power in all spheres of life. Empowerment of women is newlinecritical not only for their own welfare but also for the overall development of the newlinecountry. Entrepreneurship development among women is the one of the feasible way newlineto empower women by making her economically independent and self confident. newlineEntrepreneurship development will lead to their equal participation in economic, newlinesocial, political and cultural decision making. It will also help in fortifying law which newlineaims at removing all forms of discrimination against females. newlineThis research is an attempt to study the prevailing condition of women of western newlineRajasthan. It also studies the profile of women entrepreneurs. The research further newlineidentifies the reasons that led women enter into business and the problems faced by newlinewomen in establishing and managing the enterprise. The research also helps in newlineunderstanding the level of difference entrepreneurship make in empowering women in newlinesocial, economic and psychological terms. newlineFrom research , it has been identified that money making is the prime cause of starting newlinebusiness by majority of women entrepreneurs. Majority of women entrepreneurs have newlineto face the challenge of dual responsibility. Research also covers the challenges faced newlineby women entrepreneurs in availing the various Government schemes . Further , areas newlinefor training of women entrepreneurs have also been identified . After an extensive newlinestudy across the three districts namely Bikaner , Jodhpur and Jaisalmer of western newlineRajasthan and after interviewing more than 300 women entrepreneurs, it has been newlineconcluded that women are empowered through entrepreneurship and it is a strong tool newlinewhich can be used for the upliftmen
