Abstract: | Fruitful research efforts have been made in the recent past to newlineunderstand the behaviour of reinforced concrete deep beams. Though newlinesignificant developments have been taken place, there is a lack of agreement newlinebetween the experimental and predicted shear stress since the controlling newlinefactors are many. The decrease of the nominal critical shear stress with the newlineincrease in the beam depth without shear reinforcement has been observed. newlineThe prediction of the ultimate nominal shear stress without accounting for newlinethe beam depth does not yield uniform margin of safety on beams of newlinedifferent depths. |
