Abstract: | There has been growing awareness of the problems associated with industrial growth and newlinetechnological development in last two decades. The existence of the problem in the form of newlineHazard is due to combination of many factors. Technological development in oil refinery are newlineeven rapid and of large scale. Presence of hazard in a oil refinery facility is the root cause of newlineoccurrence of accident when hazard is transformed in to a harmful event an accident is taken newlineplace. This work demonstrates the critical system safety assessment with the help of various newlineincidents took place to the different system and subsystem of oil refinery. The categorization newlineof incidents and hazard rate function of each incident category provide the useful newlineinformation in forecasting the incidents for the particular time. The weibull analysis newlineestimators in the form of scale and shape parameters give the assurance for incidents newlineforecasting and patterns. The ALOHA software is used to obtain hazard evaluation of newlineimagine scenario in different sub system of oil refinery. The input data of ALOHA are based newlineon atmospheric stability classes, wind velocity and hazardous characteristics of material newlinesuch as flammability, reactivity and toxicity. The output data provide the useful information newlinesuch as heat flux, temperature, flammable limit boundaries and toxicity threshold limit valve newline(STEL, IDLH, TWA). The ALOHA software is used in different unit of a standard oil newlinerefinery including crude/vacuum distillation unit, full conversion hydrocracker unit, Delayed newlineCoker unit, hydrogen unit and sulphur recovery unit for hazard evaluation. newline |
