Abstract: India is a developing country striving to get developed country since last 68 years of newlineindependence. However the Unemployment and Regional economic imbalance is hindering newlineit. Industrialization plays very important role in economic development of the nation by newlinereducing unemployment and by removing regional economic imbalance. Knowing the newlineimportance of it after independence our India adopted industrialization as an important tool newlinefor development of India under the leadership of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Accordingly first newlineIndustrial policy was declared in 1948 and then modified in 1956, 1973, 1977, 1980 and 1991 newlineas per the need of the day. newlineTo create employment opportunities and to reduce the unemployment in India Government newlineundertook various programs like NREGA, IRDP, Jawahar Rozgar Yojana, Sampoorna newlineGrameen Rozgar Yojna, Swarna Jayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojna, Prime Minister s newlineEmployment Gernation Program, National Food For Work Program, Prime Minister s newlineIntegrated Urban Poverty Eradication Program (PMIUPEP), The Swaran Jayanti Rozgar newlineYojna, Jawahar Gram Samridhi Yojna etc. newlineMaharashtra Govt. also adopted industrialization by setting up MIDC in 1962 to create newlineemployment opportunities on mass level and to achieve the development of the state speedily. newlineHowever in spite of Govt. efforts to create employment through various schemes, the newlineproblem of unemployment has not been solved to considerable extent. As per CIA statistics newline2013 Unemployment rate in India in 2012 is 9.90% which is more than Japan, Brazil, Russia, newlineChina, Germany, U.K., U.S. and France. newlineIn fact our great leader Mahatma Gandhi has said that the development of India is possible newlineonly through development of villages as basically India is village oriented country. For this it newlineis very important to increase the employment rate especially in rural area. newlineIn such situation strengthening rural industry could act as instrumental in achieving growth newlineand development of Nation. newlineTool and Die industry plays important role as Tools, dies, and moulds are fundamental to newlinedur
