The field of power electronics has recently experienced newlineunprecedented growth. Its applications have rapidly expanded to cover many newlinesectors of the society. This surge is due to several factors; paramount among newlinethem being the technological advancements made by the semiconductor newlinedevice industry, which has led to the introduction of high speed and high newlinepower integrated devices. The other factors include (i) the advances in the newlinearea of microelectronics that have paved the way for the development of newlineefficient integrated circuits and the growth of processors, (ii) the ever newlinemounting need for smaller size and lighter weight power electronic circuits, newlineand (iii) the rising demand for sophisticated power electronic gadgets. This newlineincreasing reliance on power converters has made it mandatory that all such newlinesystems should have lower harmonic content, improved input power factor, newlineminimum Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) and Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) limited within the regulated range. newlineThe primary purpose of power electronic converters is to process newlinethe energy employing power switches from an available input to a desired newlineoutput. The performance of a Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) with a newlinemodulation strategy can be related to the harmonic content of the output newlinevoltages. It is therefore important to take a closer look at the harmonic content newlinein the input and/or output waveforms. A modulation scheme serves to create trains of switched pulses, which have the same fundamental volt-second newlineaverage as that of a target reference waveform at any instant. The design of newlinecontrol strategies will have to be efficient and effective to enable the newlineconverters to realize the dictated performance. The modern switching newlinestrategies are high performance, computational intensive and platform newlinesensitive in nature. The performance difference of any modified control newlinestrategy from its basic strategy may be pacified by the inaccuracies caused by newlineimplementation platform. newlineen_US
