Abstract: The term cloud computing has gained currency in the information technology world in the past 2 years as a way to describe the ongoing evolution in how people access and manage digital information. With the large proliferation of the need of storage, computing platform, and catering up the dynamic need of infrastructure for computing, cloud computing has evolved as a solution to such massive needs of information technology. But, unfortunately, cloud computing being in its nascent stage of development and deployment has been witnessed with various types of quality of services issues. One of the prime issues found in this exploration process was excessive power utilization in the datacenters that was found to consume enough power equivalents to one city. It was also found that the enormous energy consumption in datacenters makes the system very expensive to operate. Furthermore, it is also desirable to limit the number of servers to reduce power consumption, but on the other hand, obtaining good response time requires many available servers. However, reducing energy consumption has been an essential technique for Cloud resources or datacenters, not only for operational cost, but also for system reliability. Hence, the current research work is focused on providing an alternative solution to solve the power consumptions issues in datacenters. The research proposal probes various aspects of modeling the power consumption in datacenters. The proposed study investigates a complex service analysis for cloud computing which is structured as virtual machine for various resource brokers. The study also finds various poweraware policies of virtual machines for Cloud services. In this research work, an in depth analysis of energy consumption is explored at a core model of cloud computing in order to visualize the risk factors which is responsible for draining energy in data centers.
