Abstract: newlineThe overall performance of a company depends on how its human resource is used. For this, organizations require effective Human Resource Management which involves practices on manpower planning, staffing, performance appraisal, compensation, training and development. Employee attrition refers to the amount of movement of employees in and out of an organization. High Employee attrition causes multiple losses to the organization. Business Process Outsourcing means transferring repeated non-core and core business processes to an outside provider for cost reduction and service quality improvements. This industry has flourished well in India but it suffers from high employee attrition. This study examines the impact of HR practices namely Recruitment and Selection Policies, Induction and Training Programmes, Organizational Culture, Salary and Monetary Incentives, Health and Welfare Measures on attrition in BPOs. newlineOn the basis of objectives, nature of the study, literature review, and the variables, five null hypotheses were formulated. Primary data was collected using a structured questionnaire. Convenience sampling was used to select employees who were asked to complete the questionnaire. Collection of secondary data was done through online research databases, reports of NASSCOM, corporate reports, newspaper articles. newlineFor testing the hypothesis, one way ANOVA was used. A regression analysis of the factors that contribute to attrition in BPOs was done wherein probability of leaving the organization is the dependent variable while dimensions extracted from the factor analysis were taken as independent variables. Thesis consists of newlineChapter One includes introduction of the topic and rationale of the study. newlineChapter Two presents review of literature. newlineChapter Three is about research methodology newlineChapter Four is about data presentation and analysis of the field data. newlineChapter Five states the Findings, Conclusions, Recommendations and Limitations of the study. newlineAt the end, References and Questionnaire are given
