Abstract: The objective of the study was to analyze the development of women entrepreneurs in Small Scale Industries in Tirunelveli district. In order to study the development of women entrepreneurs in small scale industries in Tirunelveli district, 380 women entrepreneurs in small scale industries and services were identified as sample evenly from 19 blocks of the district by adopting the snowball sampling technique. Observational designs and Ex-post-facto research design was followed in the study. The six development factors are personality development, social development, personal development, innovational development, embankment development and intellectual development were selected for this study. Collected data were subjected to statistical analysis by using one sample t test and Factor Analysis to find out the significant development and status of the development of women entrepreneurs in selected development factors respectively. The results of the study indicate that there was a significant development only in 28 variables and not in other 12 variables of the selected development factors. It reveals that the women managed unit (WMU) and jointly managed unit (JMU) categories of women entrepreneurs have significantly developed in all development factors and men managed unit (MMU) category of women entrepreneurs have not developed in some development factors. It also reveals that the development factors of personal, innovational and intellectual development have highest loadings on the development of women entrepreneurs. Most of the women entrepreneurs faced constrains of health problems, social barriers and insecure communication system in their enterprises. Women entrepreneurs mentioned that the service gap between the some of banking service and them has affected their developments.
