Abstract: | Crystalline and polycrystalline transparent materials are used in the preparation of solid state lasers (SSL). SSL are widely used in metal processing, medical applications namely eye surgery, red-green-blue (RGB) light sources in laser printers and projectors, environmental instrumentation measurements and optical transmission systems and nuclear fusion. In recent years, investigations on stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) based Raman shift laser are promising due to various applications in visible laser wave lengths. In recent years, efforts were made to develop transparent ceramics to eliminate the toughness and complexity of crystal growth process. These transparent ceramics are more attractive with comparable properties of single crystals. Nano crystalline precursors and novel sintering methods provide new dimension for development of transparent ceramics. The magnetization value of the KHoW was almost doubled when compared to pure KGdW. The emission results show that composite SiO2/EKGdW nano composite particles can emit higher intensity red emission than the normal nano EKGdW particles. Stoichiometric replacement of Ln3+ in the KRE(WO4)2 powders were synthesized using Pechini sol-gel method. Powder X- ray diffraction pattern and Raman analysis of KREW powders show structural changes with changing ionic radii of Ln3+ ions. FE-SEM analysis showed the morphological difference with decreasing ionic radii Ln3+ ions in the KREW matrix. VSM, ZFC and FC analysis revealed that KLa(WO4)2 and KLu(WO4)2 samples exhibit diamagnetic character and other samples from KCe(WO4)2 to KYb(WO4)2 show paramagnetic response. The results of present investigation on single crystal growth of doped KGdW, nanocrystalline synthesis of KGdW particles, SiO2/EKGdW composites and different Ln3+ substituted KREW particles were summarized. Correlation and comparison of the results were also carried out. newline newline newline |
