dc.description.abstractConcept of environment is different in Aranyani Sukta and other Indian sources from the concept of environment in UN policy In ancient Indian texts we find the concept of pancamahabhuta panca means five maha means great and bhuta means natural elements These five elements are earth water fire air and space They are each one of them is a great element They are great because they sustain life They are the basic elements of the universe We are also made of these five elements In ancient age there were codes against injuring nature and particularly these five elements newline
