Strategy for Identification of Children with Strabismus and Impact of Intervention on Visual Skills

Abstract

Major objectives : newlineand#61623; Screen children using indigenous devices and techniques and identify children with strabismus newlineand atrisk for strabismus enrolled in anganwadi programme. newlineand#61623; Refer children with strabismus and atrisk for comprehensive clinical examination and newlinetreatment to help them to attain correct visual responses and develop healthy vision. newlineand#61623; Find out the level of strabismic condition in children and their capacity in performing newlinefunctional vision skills. newlineand#61623; Find out the effect of intervention programme with regard to angle of deviation, fixation, newlinediscrimination, tracking, motor co-ordination skills, appearance, complaints of the eyes and newlinebehaviour of the strabismic children. newlineand#61623; Critically analyse the relationship between appearance of the eye and complaints, complaints newlineand behaviours, behaviours and appearance of the eye of the strabismic children before and newlineafter intervention programme. newlineand#61623; Find out the relationship between refractive errors with respect to the types of strabismus. newlineand#61623; Find out the effect of IP on angle of deviation at 150, 300, 450 with respect to functional vision newlineskills such as fixation, tracking, discrimination and motor co-ordination. newlineand#61623; Create awareness among teachers, parents and caretakers on the effect of strabismus and the newlinebenefits of vision therapy and visual efficiency training to overcome strabismic problem.
