Abstract: adopted two approaches to carry out research. Firstly, the literature review and secondly TISM based approach. Based on extensive review of literature drawn from reputable journals and published reports. The literature were further classified into sub sections as commercialization of sports, theories of commercialization of sports, factors influencing commercialization of sports, need for alternative research methods and finally research gaps. The eleven drivers were identified used for developing questionnaire for gathering response from the experts who are directly or indirectly associated with commercialization of cricket sport. The structured questionnaire was developed and administered with those respondents who are associated with Indian Premier League operations. newline
