Abstract: | newline Abstract newlineThis investigation is carried out to develop different techniques for finding the path loss of RSS (Received Signal Strength) for GSM by using the HATA Model using GSM to detect mobile location in indoor and outdoor environments utilizing RSCP (Received Signal Code Power) for 3G mobiles. newline newlineThe purpose of this research is to focus on the variation of path loss calculated between measured and predicted values of the data rates of RSS for GSM (1.8GHz and 2.1GHz) at different outdoor locations in Vijayawada city(81.01,61.43), A.P, India.GPS signals are not effective in indoor environments because its signal strength is weak. As a result, positioning systems require alternative methods for using GSM to detect the mobile location without relying on the received signal from GPS satellite. newline newlineMy contribution in this thesis is to use the GSM techniques for detecting the mobile location for different indoor and outdoor environments and also for3G Signals developing an empirical model by using Received Signal Code Power (RSCP) and Ec/No for 3G (3GHz) in urban, suburban and rural areas of Vijayawada. newline newlineComparison of KF (Kalman Filter) and EKF (Extended Kalman Filter) approaches for urban, rural and suburban data.
