Abstract: | Freedom to communicate irrespective of time, location, distance and situation is the driving force behind the success of wireless cellular mobile system. The main objective of future wireless mobile networks is to provide services efficiently to the mobile users in all environments. To maximize the resource utilization performance of the cellular network, to provide better Quality of Service(QoS) and satisfying the wireless mobile user requirements, such as minimum new call blockings and handoff call droppings and clear information quality, there are three investigations introduced in this work. They are 1. Hybrid Channel Allocation with Queuing (HCAQ) for effective channel allocation strategy. 2. Priority on Resource Allocation (PRA) for effective bandwidth allocation of a particular multimedia call for traffic control. 3. Resource Estimation and Reservation (RER) for future mobile multimedia calls for effective traffic management. Firstly, for channel allocation strategy, Hybrid Channel Allocation with Queuing (HCAQ) technique is implemented. In this to achieve effective resource utilization, Hybrid Channel Allocation (HCA) strategy for channel allocation and queuing technique applied to HCA strategy for QoS provisioning are implemented. Secondly, for multimedia call bandwidth allocation, Priority on Resource Allocation (PRA) is developed. In multimedia applications like audio phone, video on demand, video conference, file transfer, etc, bandwidth is the most critical resource. Multimedia call may require different amount of bandwidth, and it depends on the type of call. Reserving required amount of resource in advance to a future new and handoff call is better than rejecting a call at the neck of the moment due to insufficient available resource at a particular time. Implementation of the above three investigations in a real time wireless mobile multimedia network will reduce the new call blocking and handoff call dropping probabilities of the mobile user and the system resource utilization along with perform |
