Abstract

Wind is the most abundant and important source of renewable energy Depletion of fossil fuels and harmful emission of gases from fuels made considerable amount of interest among researchers in effective harnessing of wind energy The aerodynamic performance plays an important role in energy production by the wind turbine Currently most of the research concentrates in improving the aerodynamic performance of the wind turbine either through wind tunnel testing theoretical studies or computational study of aerofoils In this research the aerodynamic performance is investigated experimentally solved theoretically and simulated using computational analysis In the experimental analysis investigations on the performance of wind turbines were performed in the region of Muppandal Production details of randomly selected wind electric generating systems at Muppandal from the year 2006 to 2011 were taken for analysis newline
