Development of low power algorithms for intrusion detection in wireless sensor networks

Abstract

Wireless Sensor Networks WSNs have been gaining interest as a newlineplatform that change on the basis of interaction with the physical world, newlineSecurity is important for many sensor network applications The attacks that newlineare launched by the adversaries prove detrimental to many important functions newlineof the sensor network such as routing resource allocation misbehavior newlinedetection and voting Intrusion Detection Systems IDS are helpful in newlinedetecting those attacks but they are computationally expensive and require newlinemammoth resources for detecting the threats As sensor nodes are generally newlinebatterypowered devices the critical aspect is to reduce the energy newlineconsumption of nodes, so that the network lifetime can be extended to newlinereasonable times So attempts are made to design and develop algorithms that newlineare energy efficient supporting the IDS of WSN newline newline
