Abstract

newline Information is recognized as a vital source indispensable for the development of an individual and the society. It regulates creative thoughts and sharpens the outlook, making man fit for survival in the world. Information explosion due to technological development has resulted in information overflow and its availability in various channels and formats. Technology driven world brings changes in the learning process of users in academic Institutions. Due to the transformation in the learning process, the information needs and seeking pattern of the users are also modified. The seekers of information encounter numerous problems when searching for information to meet academic needs (e.g. an assigned research paper). Retrieval of relevant information from the library and the internet has become a Himalayan task. Researchers and faculty members are forced to nurture this skill to utilizing the resources regularly.
