Abstract: | newlineThis study examined the effects of All India Inter University wrestling players and socioeconomic status on Sports performance of Solapur University wrestling players. The sample consists of 208 male wrestling players form zonal level and 16 players from ALL India Inter University level in age range of 18 to 28, and 20 Coaches from Solapur University. Convenience sampling method was used for this study. Socio economic status scale developed by Kuppuswamy s Socioeconomic Status Scale (2012, Revised) and Coaches Knowledge Scale developed by experts opinion was used for data collection. While the total SES score and winner and loser of the zonal and All India Inter University level for consecutive two years were considered as an achievement criteria. Mean (M), Standard Deviation (S.D), Standard Error of the mean (S.E.M), Pearson Correlation were used. This study shows that Middle SES class is higher than other SES classes, SES influence the achievement of the wrestling players performance level. The result of this study showed that the difference between high and low socio-economic status groups. It was found that the Sports achievement was influenced by the socio-economic status and those who belonged to high socio-economic status showed better performance. It was also found that lower knowledge their professional fields of Solapur University wrestling coaches. Based on the findings some recommendations were given in this research, with great suggestion for both the practice and further studies. |
