Stroke rehabilitation is predominantly impairment specific Impact of site and size of lesion is not given weightage during treatment planning There is a dearth of literature on impact of site and size of infarct on motor function outcome in Indian stroke survivors In this study patients with cortical infarcts 25 sub cortical infarcts 57 and transcerebral infarcts 33 were evaluated with Stroke Rehabilitation Assessment of Movement Motor Assessment Scale and Barthel index on 7th and 90th day post stroke Infarct site and size are documented with DWI of MRI.Alberta Stroke Program Early CT score was used to quantify the size of infarct Impact of site and size of infarct on motor and functional outcome were analysed within and in between the infarct sites Impact of site and size together on outcome was analysed. Site and size of infarct together influenced the motor function outcome at 90th day post stroke day. Cortical infarcts had better outcome followed by subcortical and transcerebral infarcts newline
