Zooplankton Community of two typical Wetlands of Kashmir Himalaya

Abstract

For long, studies have been focused mainly on other lakes of Kashmir and regarding zooplankton community only a few previous reports on Wular and Hokersar, being the typical wetlands as well as Ramsar Sites of International importance in Kashmir Himalaya are available. Keeping in view the importance of wetlands and general paucity of literature, the present work is proposed to be undertaken to assess the diversity, abundance and seasonal variations of zooplankton community in relation to physico-chemical parameters of water in both the wetlands (Wular and Hokersar) of Kashmir valley. newline
