Allergic Rhinitis is a disease newlinepertaining nose induced by an immunoglobin E (IgE) mediated inflammatory reaction newlineafter allergic exposure of the membranes lining the nose. The management includes 3 newlinemajor categories: newline(1) Environmental control measures and allergen avoidance newline(2) Pharmacological management newline(3) Immunotherapy newlineThe above explained treatment modalities tend to have hazardous affect on the newlinehealth of the individual in a longer run. So to find alternatives to the same, Ayurvedic newlinetreatment modalities like Nasya can be sorted to treat Vataja Pratishyaya. Shunthyadi newlineTaila in the form of Nasya has been highlighted as a drug of choice for the newlinemanagement of Kshavathu, which is the predominant symptom of Vataja Pratishyaya. newlineHence the Nasya with Shunthyadi Taila has been taken into consideration for treating newlinethe above said condition with Anu Taila Nasya, which is a widely practiced newlineformulation, as a control drug. newlineObjectives: newline newline newline To evaluate the effect of Shunthyadi Taila Nasya in comparison to Anutaila newlineNasya in Vataja Pratishyaya (Allergic Rhinitis). newline newlineMethodology: newlineThe study was conducted in the KLEU s Shri BMK Ayurveda hospital, Dept. newlineof Shalakya Tantra OPD from where patients fulfilling the diagnostic criteria of newlineVataja Pratishyaya (Allergic Rhinitis) aged between15- 50 years were considered out newlineof which patients with systemic infections like tuberculosis etc. and associated newlinecomplications were excluded. The study was carried out on total of 84 subjects. They newlinewere randomly allocated in standard group (Anu Taila Nasya) (n=41) and trial group newline(Shunthyadi Taila Nasya) (n=43).
