Sewage treatment plants serves as a source of this antibiotic resistant bacteria to all the other environmental ecosystems. Hence monitoring the waste water pathogens and their antibiotic resistance characteristics was required. newlineIn this study the seasonal variation of the pathogenic bacteria was studied in waste water. The Resistance and survivability of the screened strains were studied. The prevalence of organisms with respect to the temperature showed that majority of the organisms grown at an optimum temperature of 300C with respect to the lower temperature of 150C and higher temperature of 450C. The pH factor results report that pH7 is the best pH for the growth of the organisms compared to those of pH3 and pH9. The studies indicated that waste water is a home for not only pathogenic bacteria in this ecosytem but also many MDR bacteria thrive in this supportive environment. Existence of Most of the MDR pathogens must have arised due to the several kinds of sources like hospital waste water, runoff from cattle farm etc. newlineThe disposal of the waste water containing MDR pathogens inturn pollute entire ecosystem and hence even the usage of this for irrigation is not recommended. Due to the scarcity of the fresh water sources, a part of the world population depend on these secondary sources to meet their demands. This water if irrigated may lead to the transmission of the bacterial pathogens via food chain and in-turn may affect the immune system. Hence there should be a proper treatment equipped in waste water treatment plants in-order to reduce the bacterial pathogens passing on to other environmental compartments. It can be suggested that a proper treatment system with regular monitoring should be applied to assess the impact of the pathogenic bacteria on waste water systems and surrounding environment. The Photocatalytic disinfestation can be tried in waste water systems so as to reduce the bacterial load as well as MDR bacteria in the waste water systems. newlinequot newline
