Onset and characterization of chaos in a two dimensional nonlinear deterministic model

Abstract

The thesis investigates about the Onset and Characterization of Chaos in a Two newlineDimensional Nonlinear Deterministic Model. The study analyses two coupled first order newlinedifference equations of the logistic type which are confined to the unit square. The onset and characterisation of chaos in this model have been thoroughly investigated. It made extensive analysis of the chaotic region of the map and have shown that the model can generate strange attractors in the unit square for an uncountable number of parameter values. Results suggest that two dimensional nonlinear deterministic model can be considered as an analogue of the logistic newlinemap in two dimensions and may be useful in describing certain higher dimensional chaotic newlinephenomena. The most important result that we have shown for two dimensional nonlinear newlinedeterministic model is that it comes under the universality class of Feigenbaum.
