dc.description.abstractThe thesis entitled New Accelerator System for Low Temperature Curing of Elastomers newlinewith Special Reference to NR, NBR AND NR/BR Blends. The primary objective of the study newlinewas to develop a novel accelerator system for vulcanization of rubber compounds at newlinetemperatures lower than those employed conventionally. The study gives information about the mechanism of vulcanization, the specifications of all the materials used in the study and summarises the different experimental techniques used. In the present work, xanthate accelerators were prepared and characterised and these xanthates alone and in combination with ZDC were tried in the vulcanization of NR, NBR and NR/BR blends and the mechanical properties of the vulcanizates were studied.en_US
