Abstract: In recent years, the synthesis of pyrimidine containing heterocyclic ring has emerged as a newlinevery challenging field. In literature, pyrimidines have been reported as important class of newlineheterocyclic compounds having useful pharmacological potent activities as they are present in newlinevarious naturally occurring biological compounds like cofactors and nucleobases. Fused newlineheterocyclic pyrimidine system, in particular pyrido pyrimidines has attracted attention of newlineorganic synthetic chemist, as these compounds exhibit wide range of biological activities such as newlineantimicrobial, antibacterial, anti-inflamatory and analgesic , antifolate , tyrosine kinase , newlineantiaggressive , antitumor , calcium channel antagonists and antioxidant activity. newlineSimilarly, heterocyclic compounds containing thiazole ring represent a very important newlineclass of organic compounds. Thiazole ring is present in some very important natural products newlinesuch as vitamin B1 (thiamine). Thiazole compounds play a very vital role in medicinal chemistry. newlineThiazole containing compounds are widely used in the field of drug development such as newlinecardiotonic, fungicidal and in HIV infection. Thiazole derivatives have been reported to carry newlinepromising pharmacological activities like antidiabetic, CNS depressant, analgesic, antifungal , newlineantibacterial and antioxidant activity. In the present investigation, we carried out very extensive newlineand careful review of literature aiming at synthesizing new bioactive fused thiazolo pyrimidine newlinederivatives. newlineHerein, taking inspiration from above all pharmacological properties of pyrimido and newlinethiazolo pyrimidine derivatives, in this thesis, We have reported synthesis of various pyrido as newlinewell as thiazolo pyrimidine moieties and their various derivatives. Further, all these compounds newlinewere investigated for their various pharmacological activities. newlineAbstract newlinevi newlinePRESENT WORK newlineThesis entitled SYNTHESIS OF NOVEL FUSED AZA-THIA HETEROCYCLES newlineAND STUDIES ON THEIR CHEMISTRY AND PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTIVITIES newlinecomprises seven chapters.
