Abstract: Chapter 1 present the introduction to the study of globalisation and changing newlineconsumption patterns in rural area with special reference to Latur district. The effects newlineof globalisation on India especially rural area is viewed in short. In this context the newlineIndian consumers have studied in historical period. India s trade with foreign newlinecountries is also studied. The different reasons of globalisation have also studied such newlineas increasing population of India etc. Foreign companies started their business in newlineIndia. It leads to change in Indian culture, living standard and habits of Indian people. newlineThis chapter also contains the literature review. It involves the collection of literatures newlinein selected area of research in which researcher has limited experience and critical newlineexamination and comparison of them to have better understanding. It also helps newlineresearchers to update the past data, data sources and results to identify gaps, if any in newlinethe research. newlineThus the review of the present study consists of the ones discussed and reveals about newlinestudies emphasising on the topic Globalisation and changing consumption patterns in newlinerural area with special reference to Latur district. newlineChapter 2 presents the detail about globalisation process. It contains definition of newlineglobalisation, effects of globalisation. It presents the globalization in south Asia and newlineIndia. Globalisation has both the sides dark and bright which gives details in Indian newlinecontext. Globalisation has changed the living standard of the people. Foreign brand newlineproducts are easily available to a common man. newlineXIX newlineChapter 3 presents detail about the profile of Latur district. It gives geographic, newlinedemographic newlineInformation of the district. It is helpful to understand the district completely. Latur is newlinesituated in Marathawada region of Maharashtra state. Latur is famous for the newlineEducation Hub. Thus Latur is developing city. People came to Latur from various newlineplaces for education. As it is directly connected to Mumbai transportation became newlineeasy. newlineChapter 4 presents detail about the profile of consumers. It shows detail about newlineconsumers such as rural, urban, education, age, literacy, occupation, gender etc. With newlinethis study it is easy to conclude about the demands and needs of people. newlineChapter 5 presents about the changes in demand and consumption. It gives detail newlineabout culture, traditions etc. It gives detail information about religions, different newlinefestivals etc. It gives details about food habits, clothing patterns, different lifestyles of newlinepeople. Cultural exchange of different states within country. In short it shows the newlinepicture of Indian culture with reference to rural area. It also shows culture of newlineMaharashtra state. newlineChapter 6 presents data analysis. Information is collected from individuals by the way newlineof interview, questionnaire, discussion etc. It is presented in the form of tables and newlinegraphs. From these tables preference of all the respondents can be calculated. newlineAverage, mean, percentage are the tools used for it. newlineChapter 7 presents the details about the changes in standard of living. Changes are newlinefound in food and clothing patterns from last 25 years. Before globalization it was newlinedifficult to get the foreign brand product to a rural consumer. Cloths used before some newlineXX newlineyears were out of use now. The food items preferred before are not demanded now. newlineLife of an individual either it is rural or urban inclined towards comfort and luxury. newlineInstant food, fast food is demanded. In rural area new clothing styles have became newlinepopular among boys and girls. newlineChapter 8 presents the conclusions of the study. It shows that due to globalisation newlinethere are changes in lifestyle of the people. There is increasing demand for instant newlinefood, comfortable clothing patterns. People want to avoid laborious work and want to newlinelive stress free life. Due to availability of new products of MNC lifestyle has changed newline
