Abstract: Order Polyporales (Basidiomycota) includes one of the major concentrations of Homobasidiomycetes, including both the corticioid as well as resupinate poroid fungi. The present work provides a comprehensive account of these from the state of Himachal Pradesh. Classifications given by Hibbett et al., 2007, Blackwell et al., 2006, James et al., 2006, and adopted by Kirk et al., 2008 have been followed during the present work. As many as 110 taxa belonging to 24 genera have been described which include 21 taxa new to science, including 4 (Hyphoderma parvispora, H. bicystidiatum, H. subglobosum and Phlebia crassisubiculata) published new species, 15 (Antrodiella allantoidea, Confertextum macrosporum, C. microsporum, Crustomyces dichohyphidius, H. ellipsoidispora, H. himalayensis, H. tricystidiata, H. verrucospora, Hypochnicium himalayensis, Phanerochaete dalhousiense, Phlebia dhingrii, P. repetobasidiata, Tubulicrinis dalhousiensis, T. duplibasidisporus, T. singularicystidiatus) proposed new species and 2 (Hyphoderma albocremeum var. angustispora, H. roseocremeum var. minutispora) proposed new varieties. As many as 37 species (Antrodia macra, A. malicola, Antrodiella fragrans, A. ichnusana, A. romellii, Ceriporia alachuana, Ceriporiopsis subvermispora, Crustoderma corneum, C. testatum, Fabisporus flavescens, Hyphoderma cremeoalbum, H. guttuliferum, H. luridum, H. obtusum, H. macedonicum, H. occidentale, H. orphanellum, H. terricola, Hypochnicium erikssonii, H. subrigescens, Pachykytospora tuberculosa, Phanerochaete calotricha, P. deflectens, P. septocystidia, P. tropica, Phlebia ochraceofulva, P. segregata, P. singularisa, Phlebiella ardosiaca, P. gaspesica, Rigidoporus undatus, Schizopora radula, Tubulicrinis borealis, T. calothrix, T. confusus, T. effugiens, T. orientalis) have been recorded for the first time from India. newlineHost diversity, frequency of occurrence and distribution pattern based on altitudinal variations of all the 110 taxa has been given.
