Abstract: | Pervasive computing enables the user to connect to the network and receive any service anywhere any time. There is uncertainty in pervasive environment in terms of reliability, availability and trust. Pervasive environments consist of different service providers providing similar services with same functionality but possess different criteria. Pervasive computing has many newlinepotential applications, such as health care, business, communications, social newlinenetworking, home care, environmental monitoring, and intelligent transport newlinesystems. Improved service delivery with good quality, increased customer satisfaction, enhanced agility and reduced costs are the requirements of pervasive computing. A simple service selection scenario, when it is extended straight forwardly to practical applications, gives rise to increased overhead, increased service selection time, undesirable service selection, poor scalability and the system is unreliable. newlineService selection is an important challenge in pervasive environments. Service selection framework has to ensure that the desired service with the required quality of service parameters is provided to the user. In pervasive environments, there are many individuals or organizations (service providers) that provide services for the business applications. These large number of service providers will provide similar services but with different quality of services. The important challenge in the Pervasive Environment is to ensure whether the desired service with the required quality of service parameters is provided to the user. Simple service selection algorithms select the service based on the type of the newlineservice. |
