dc.description.abstractThe cement industry in India in general and in north zone in particular is doing well on newlineyear on year basis. Barring few years where the capacity utilization remained under newlinepressure, still growth is continual. On one hand where few companies are continually newlineincreasing their capacities, few others are hiving off which is an interesting phenomenon. newlineThis research study is done to identify the important key factors for the sustainable newlinegrowth of grey cement business in the selected market of north zone. Supply chain newlinemanagement plays a key role in the cement industry and so each of its components with newlinerespect to out bond supply chain were studied in depth. It was analysed and found that the newlinebusiness is highly dynamic in nature and so it is important to have a thorough grip on newlineeach aspect. The systems are required to be sound however the networking needs to be newlinesuch that decision making is quick enough based on the prevailing situation and newlineconditions. newlineThe study was done by analyzing the prevailing practices being followed by different newlinecompanies. The markets chosen were Rajasthan and Western Uttar Pradesh as the first newlineone is a hub of several green field units where as in the second state, there is no green newlinefield cement plant. This provided an opportunity for different kind of markets like newlineprimary, secondary and even tertiary. The expectations of different stake holders were newlinecorroborated with business requirement considering integration so that sustainable newlinegrowth in the business could be achieved. newline
