Abstract: An ad hoc network is composed of a group of small powerconstrained newlinenodes with functions of sensing and communication which can newlinebe scattered over a vast region for the purpose of detecting or monitoring newlinesome special events It consists of many low cost and low powered sensor newlinenodes that collaborate with each other to gather process and communicate newlineinformation using wireless communications Sensors are battery operated with newlinea processor and a radio They are characterized by limited resources in terms newlineof memory computation and energy Due to the limited energy resource in newlineeach ad hoc node it is needed to utilize the sensors in an efficient manner so newlineas to increase the lifetime of the network newline newline
