Abstract: The menace of electricity theft continues to negatively impact on utility companiesespecially indeveloping countries. Accurately identifying perpetrators and gathering irrefutable evidence to successfully prosecute them remainsa challenge. There is thus the urgent need to develop techniques that accurately identify electricity theft and providesreliable evidence for a successful prosecution of offendersusing sound digital forensic processes. In this research, predictive algorithms in IoT based smart energy systems for real time theft detection is developed and implementedand evidence is enhanced in digital forensics.
