Abstract: newline A digital imaging technology is the most important technique in clinical procedure. Current advancements in the field of medical imaging and computer technology have created an opportunity for quantitative analysis of medical images and provide influential technique to investigate and analyze the structure, pathology and functions of the human body. The availability of several imaging modalities increased the requirement for substantial innovation to obtain the accurate and fast result in all aspects of image processing. newlineDigital images are made up of individual pixels, to which different brightness or color values are assigned. Apart from digitizing a continuous image, image processing techniques allows us to extract useful information from the digitized images. Two basic advantages of using digital image processing techniques are, improving of quality of visual information and processing of image data for representation/interpretation. Digital image processing is mainly used in the areas of object tracking, remote sensing, machine/robot vision, defense surveillance, pattern recognition, automatic visual inspection system, video processing and medical imaging. The main objective of medical image processing is to extract clinically relevant information from images which are stored digitally. Image processing techniques are much useful in diagnosis, treatment planning in medicine with visualization and quantitative assessment [1,2]. These techniques are non-invasive and further they have helped doctors for performing clinical decisions or surgeries. The current research is focused on diagnosis of abdominal organs such as liver, spleen, kidney and gallbladder, etc
