Catalysis is one of the most efficient, reliable and powerful mechanistic tool to identify new chemical reactions pathway. The present research has been conducted to study the catalyzed oxidation of the organic compounds such amino acids (L-Leucine, L-isoLeucine, L-Cysteine), sugars [(D(+) Galactose (plant derived form), D(+)Glucose] and the only drug [Aspirin (Acetyl salicylic acid] by using cerium(IV) as an oxidizing agent in aqueous sulphuric acid medium. The effect of selective and unique catalysts those applied to study the kinetics are Potassium(K+), Platinum(II), Palladium(II), Gold(III) and Copper(II). Moreover synergistic effect (dual catalyst) of {K++Pt(II)}, {Cu(II)+Pt(II)}, {Pd(II)+Pt(II), {K++Au(III)}, {Cu(II)+Au(III)}, {Pd(II)+Au(III) system have been studied in oxidation of these selective organic compounds. Catalysts have been found to be efficient for the oxidation reactions. The performance of these catalysts depends strongly on the particle size of the nanoparticles vis-à-vis temperature played a crucial role in this regard. However, other factors also have a strong influence on the catalytic activity such as the preparation method, morphology. The effect of the synthesis methods has been investigated with regard to the selectivity and the activity of the catalysts. newlineHere potassium(K+) has been applied as catalyst in the oxidation of two essential amino acids (L-Leucine, L-isoleucine), whereas Cu(II) has been employed as catalyst in the oxidation of L-Cysteine, D(+)Glucose, D(+) Galactose and Aspirin and other catalysts are common for all the organic compounds, that are used.
