dc.description.abstractThe thesis entitled Synthesis, Characterization and Biological Activity newlineof NSAIDs Derived Esters, Imides and Pyrazolines comprises of five newlinechapters. newlineCHAPTER-1 newlineA brief review on pharmacological activities of non steroidal anti- newlineinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and their derivatives. This chapter deals with general survey of the relevant literature related to newlinethe present topic which describes the development of pharmacologically newlineimportant derivatives of non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) as new scaffold by minimizing the toxic effects of existing agents. Several strategies have been reported on the modification of the well known NSAIDs for the design and development of new scaffold, such as novel cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitors, nitric oxide donors, prodrugs, antioxidants, antibacterial and cytotoxic agents.Therefore, it may be feasible to develop safer and more efficacious drugs by modifying NSAIDs.en_US
