Abstract: People of the world are in need to find and develop new sources of newlineenergy to power their lives without hurting the air. As populations grow more newlinerapidly, more people are forced to compete for resources. Humankind, newlineconsuming more natural resources from ancient days, depleted the fossil fuels newlineand now thrive to develop renewable energy sources to combat with global newlinewarming. The depletion of fossil fuels and the increase in demand for energy newlinehave led people to discover new and renewable sources of energy, for power newlinegeneration. newlineAmong the renewable energy sources, solar energy is the one newlinewhich never run out and works for a small scale and large scale power newlinegeneration. India is blessed with an abundance of solar energy throughout the newlineyear to utilize for power generation. Consequently, Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) newlinepower is progressively becoming more attractive and widely used in low and newlinemedium level of applications. Most prominent features of SPV power newlineconversion system, increase the interests in developing more flexible design of SPV power system when compared with Solar Thermal (ST) power newlinesystem. newlineThough there have been notable availability of some traditional newlineapproaches in the design and development of Stand-Alone Solar PhotoVoltaic newlineSystem (SASPVS) since 1980s, still there is a need for the improvement in design to establish a secured and reliable system in remote areas. A typical newlineOGSPVPS, mainly depends on the solar resource assessment, sizing of each newlineand every component, reliability assessment and the performance of power newlineelectronic converter. Some of the limitations observed with the existing newlineapproaches of design, include difficulty in resource assessment for the newlineremote areas without meteorological station, deterministic approach of sizing newlinewhich does not consider the solar radiation variability into account and lack newlineof quality output power to the consumer. The primary goal of this research is to investigate the performance newlineof newly developed Off-Grid Solar PhotoVoltaic Power System (OGSPVPS). newline
