Abstract: plant derived BEHP can be considered as a potent antimycobacterial newlinecomponent as it has been tested on two mycobacterial strains, Mycobacterium smegmatis and newlineMycobacterium tuberculosis H37Ra and also retains its activity on isolation unlike ZGB that newlineworks only as crude extract. A toxicity test of the purified samples was also assessed by an in newlinevitro 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide reduction (MTT) and newlinehaemolytic assays.
