Abstract: An experimental study on effectiveness of modified early ambulation on activities newlineof daily living, functional activity and psychological wellbeing among the patients newlineundergone abdominal surgery in Kempagowda Institute of Medical Sciences, Bangalore. newlineComplications due to lack of early ambulation are the main cause for morbidity and newlinemortality in India and all over the world. Many researches have been done to prove the newlineearly ambulation improves postoperative recovery, reduce incidence of postoperative newlinecomplications and promote early discharge. The investigator has selected only on three newlineaspects of postoperative recovery such as activities of daily living, functional activity and newlinepsychological wellbeing. The main objectives of the study were directed to determine the newlineeffectiveness of modified early ambulation on activities of daily living, functional activity newlineand psychological wellbeing among the patients undergone abdominal surgery in the newlineboth study and control group. Also the study goal was directed to determine the newlinedifference between selected demographic variables and activities of daily living, newlinefunctional activity and psychological wellbeing in the study group and the control group. newlineAbout 150 samples were selected from Kempagowda Institute of Medical newlineSciences, Bangalore, as study group and control group with sample of 75 each. Sample newlineselection done by using lottery method since random sampling was applied where each newlinepatient has equal chance of being selected, therefore out of 150 sample, every even newlinenumber were selected as control group and odd numbers as study group, sampling newlinemade as per fulfilling inclusive criteria, selected preoperatively, only the patients who can newlinebe possibly ambulated after 16th hour of surgery, pilot study was conducted before the newlinemain study using 20 samples, study was found to be reliable and can be continued for newlinedoing main study. newlineCreate PDF files without this message by purchasing novaPDF printer (http://www.novapdf.com)The conceptual framework of the study used Bertalenfly s system theor
