Abstract: The miniaturization of components has become a necessity for the newlinefuture technological development of a broad spectrum of high accuracy newlineproducts in application for aerospace biomedical electronics environmental newlinecommunications and automotive fields Many common methods of newlinemanufacturing miniaturecomponents have been based on semiconductor newlineprocessing techniques usually in large batch production These processes are newlinequasi 3D manufacturing processes having limitations such as less aspect ratio newlineand limited workpiece materials Therefore miniaturization of conventional newlinemanufacturing processes like turning milling drilling and unconventional newlinemanufacturing processes like electro discharge machining EDM newlineelectrochemical machining ECMwire electro discharge machining newlineWEDMetc find applications in this field They also can produce newlinecomponents in 3D domain for a variety of workpiece materials newlineMicro WEDM is a versatile technique for machining electrically newlineconductive materials to make components for microsystem technologies newlineSelection of optimum machining parameter combinations for obtaining newlinedesired surface finish and higher dimensional accuracy are a challenging tasks newlinein MicroWEDM due to the presence of a large number of process variables newlineHence there is a demand for research studies which should establish a newlinesystematic approach to find out the optimum parametric settings to achieve newlinethe maximum process yield criteria for different classes of engineering newlinematerials newline newline
