Abstract: Isolation and characterisation of the bioactive compounds in the ethyl acetate fraction of methanolic extract of Spermacoce hispida.L yielded five compounds A,B,C,D and E namely and#946;-sitosterol, Ursolic acid, Quercetin, Dalspinin and Rutin respectively. Insilico docking analysis was done on specific proteins such us Bcl2, HIF1, AKT and Caspase-3. Based on the docking score obtained for the individual molecules, dalspinin exhibited better binding energies relating to better bioactivity. Likewise among the molecules tested by invitro assays dalspinin exhibited better antioxidant activity. Hence, further studies were undertaken with dalspinin. DBG exerts a profound cardioprotective effect against CoCl2-induced hypoxic injury by reducing oxidative stress via restoring cellular defense mechanisms (GSH, SOD and suppressing lipid peroxidation and LDH leakage) and inhibiting apoptosis (i.e by decreasing Bax and caspase and increasing Bcl2), through suppressing the phosphorylation of Akt and p38 signaling pathways follwed by anti-inflammatory potential.These findings highlight the possibility that DBG supplementation may be protective against oxidative stress-related cardiovascular risk factors and myocardial damage newline
