Abstract: newlineThere is a tremendous change in automotive sector to compete the need newlineof high strength to weight ratio light metal replaces the heavy metals In order newlineto combine the advantages of weight reduction and wear resistance bimetallic newlinepistons are used The bimetallic automotive component consists of an newlinealuminum silicon alloy reinforced with an iron based insert In view of newlinereducing the weight of the component and for better mechanical properties it newlinewas manufactured by gravity die casting method The present work is focused newlineto minimize the wear and also for better functionality Uniform wetting is newlineensured for proper bonding of the insert with alloy Under these conditions newlinethe mechanical behavior of bonding of an automotive piston at different heat newlinetreatment is dealt The mechanical behaviors such as strength and hardness are newlinemeasured Besides the metallurgical properties like available phase structure newlineat the aluminum and cast iron Al CI integration are dealt with the result of newlineScanning Electron Microscope SEM and X Ray Diffraction XRD newline newline
