Abstract: newlinePoultry slaughterhouse industry is one of the large user of potable newlinewater and consequently huge generator of wastewater The wastewater newlinegenerated from poultry processing facilities containing majority of soluble newlineand particulate organic material which must be treated prior to discharge to newlinesafeguard environment as well as achieve regulatory compliances Anaerobic newlinedigestion is considered as suitable treatment for removing the pollutants from newlinethe poultry slaughterhouse wastewater since it is highly organic in nature and newlineproduces useful biogas in the form of methane Among several anaerobic newlinedigestion systems the high rate reactors are proved as one of the very good newlinepromising option for the treatment of industrial wastewaters newlineThe present investigation deals with treatment of poultry newlineslaughterhouse wastewater with and without domestic wastewater using newlineHybrid Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket HUASB reactors and Upflow newlineAnaerobic Filters UAFs HUASB reactor is the combination of Upflow newlineAnaerobic Sludge Blanket UASB reactor in lower part and Anaerobic Filter newline AF in the upper part UAF is an attached growth system in which initial newlinebiofilm formation and subsequent contact between biomass and substrate is newlineessential newline newline
