Abstract: Comparative genome analysis can reveal the presence of conserved newlinegenes and regulatory regions In bacteria strain specific differences that are newlineresponsible for pathogenesis can be identified by comparative analysis We newlinehave compared the genomes of pathogenic and commensal enterobacteriaceae newlineand arrived at lists of genes that are specific to the pathogens For this newlineanalysis we have used two sets of genomes The first set is more restrained newlinebut with more members composed of the genera Escherichia and Salmonella newlineThe second set was made of three genomes from genus Escherichia two from newlinegenus Salmonella and one from Shigella Shigella flexneriWe identified 20 newlinegenes in the first set and 107 in the second set as being unique for pathogenic newlinegenomes newline newline
