Abstract: The concept of reliability is being grown up day by day. Now reliability analysis is an important tool of any industry/system. There are many engineering systems such as satellite communication system, telecommunication system, networking system and power generation system etc., where the reliability analysis is very important. Recently, the reliability analysis is also very useful in proper designing and safety of any system. Reputation of an industry, cost benefit analysis, competitive advantages and identification of a sensitive component of a system are the main reasons for the importance of reliability. The reliability evaluation of a system includes the various reliability analyses such as reliability, availability, MTTF, sensitivity analysis, cost benefit analysis, expected profit etc. newlineIn this work, the different mathematical models for reliability measures have been analysed by using Markov process such as reliability, availability, mean time to failure, sensitivity analysis and expected profit of some engineering systems by using supplementary variable techniques and Laplace transformation. Also, the reliability measures have been computed numerically and critically examined by using graphs. The developed models are Satellite Communication System, Mobile Communication System, Gas and Nuclear Power Plant, Ring Network Topology, Telephone Exchange Network and Automated Teller Machine (ATM). In these systems, the different types of failures such as components failure, catastrophic failure and human failures have been considered. newlineThe seven different engineering models that contain various components of the system, have been developed. In satellite communication system, a satellite system, which includes the earth station and terrestrial system, has been considered. In a mobile communication system, the mobile station, base transceiver station, base station controller and the mobile switching centre are taken.
