Abstract: The ever increasing demand for conventional energy sources drives society towards the research and development of alternative energy sources such as wind and solar energy This promising outlook reflects impressive technical gains that promote research and development during the past two decades in the field of power electronics The development and widespread renewable energy technologies are technically feasible and meet critical socio economic and environmental challenges which can advance at a faster pace than conventional technologies Inorder to meet the sustained load demands different energy sources and converters need to be integrated with each other for improving their performances establishing techniques for accurately predicting their outputs Currently the use of electronic power converters and inverters continuing its growth centering on quality of service and efficiency The successful implementation of hybrid energy system greatly depends on the selection and optimal design of suitable power converters and their control which will help to provide maximum energy efficiency improve the performance reliability and safety of the overall system required for different applications High performance inverters in renewable energy systems are the focus of today s power electronics industry The adaptation of pulse width modulation techniques that have the feasibility of controlled turn ON and turn OFF make fully controlled semiconductor power switches very attractive for use in modern power electronic converters The implementation of these techniques with certain rules and goals makes the control over inverter fundamental load voltage waveform quality energy efficiency and voltage linearity newline
