Abstract: In recent years the application of power electronic devices has newlinegrown tremendously Recently a study by the Electric Power Research newlineInstitute of America EPRIA predicts that by the end of the twenty first newlinecentury 95 of electrical power in the world will be flowing through power newlineelectronic equipments The main drawback in most of the power electronic newlinecomponents is their transient behavior and presence of ripple content in the newlineoutput The major focus of the thesis is on the transient behavior and the newlineripple content in the PBBC Positive Buck Boost converter which is often a newlinekey component in any power electronic gadgets More number of components newlineused in the circuit improper triggering and unwise choice of the controller newlineare some of the identical causes for this behavior Therefore in this thesis a newlinenew model of the PBBC circuit and a controller for the Buck Boost converter newlineis introduced to achieve better transient and fast response and its performance newlineis compared with the existing system of a cascaded buck boost converter newline newline
