Abstract: newline Nowadays we can manipulate properties of materials by applying an electric or magnetic field which has been an interesting scientific topic for centuries. This chapter includes the discussion on some basic properties of materials like dielectric, ferroelectric, ferromagnetic, multiferroic, and magnetodielectric (MD) effect. The subject matter is so developed that it leads to the problem definition of the research work and the detail layout of the thesis is presented in the closing section of the chapter-I. The main motto of present thesis is to understand, synthesize and characterize single phase multiferroic materials.
