Abstract: All over the world maintenance and repair of reinforced concrete newlinestructures are becoming major challenge for the construction industry. Many newlinereinforced concrete structures that were designed and constructed before the newlineserious application of earthquake-resistant design codes are vulnerable to newlineseismic forces. The serviceability conditions of many buildings have been newlinechanged to meet present requirement. The structures are to be strengthened to newlinetake additional loads induced by the above factors. In the past research works newlinehave been carried out by researchers with regard to effect of Fiber reinforced newlinePolymer (FRP) wrappings for a particular type of wrapping and loading newlineconditions. Not much work has been carried out in a single work to find the newlineeffectiveness of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP), Glass Fiber newlineReinforced Polymer (GFRP) and Hybrid Fiber Reinforced Polymer (HyFRP) newlinewrapping for different span to depth ratios (L/D) of beams and height to least newlinelateral dimension (H/D) ratio of columns. An experimental investigation was newlineconducted to study the effectiveness of wrapping with CFRP, GFRP, and newlineHybrid FRP for different span to depth ratios of control and strengthened newlinereinforced concrete members (beams and columns). The wrapped beams were newlinetested under static and cyclic loading conditions and columns were tested to newlineultimate load level under uniaxial compression. Beams having three span-depth ratios (L/D) i.e., 4.0, 5.5 and 7.0 were retrofitted and rehabilitated with two layers of CFRP, GFRP, HYBRID newlineFRP (CFRP GFRP, GFRP-CFRP) wrapping. Beams were tested to service newlineload, ultimate load under static and cyclic loading condition. The load newlinecarrying capacity, stiffness and ductility were studied.
