Abstract: Wireless communication is one of the fastest growing technologies which attract more researchers for the past few decades. Some of the research issues in the ad hoc network are, Traffic Management, Optimal routing protocols, Providing QoS, Offering reliable services, Load Balancing, Effective Transport Control Protocol (TCP), Medium Access Scheme, Energy Management, Scalability, Efficient Node Deployment, and Self-organization and Service Discovery. In which, routing data packets through reliable, shortest transmission time path is a critical issue. Routing in wireless ad hoc network has more challenges, they are: frequent mobility, bandwidth constraint, error-prone and shared channel, location dependent contention, and limited resource like battery power, buffer size. Hence, design of ad hoc routing are requires quick route configuration, loop free routing, minimum route acquisition delay, distributed routing approach, minimum control overhead, scalability, QoS, time sensitive traffic, and security. To overcome the pitfalls in ad hoc network, and to fulfill the afore-mentioned design issues, this research work proposes Vast Intelligence Swarm Usage (VISU) routing protocol. The proposed VISU routing protocol offers energy efficient clustering through Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) and shortest transmission time routing path using Ant Colony Optimization (ACO). ABC and ACO are recently developed swarm intelligence techniques. Swarm intelligence is a new discipline of study that contains a relatively optimal approach for problem solving and this is just an imitation from the social behavior of insects and animals.
