To study the profile of the study area and characteristics of the sample respondents. newline2. To analyse the trend, growth and magnitude of variability of coconut production. newline3. To analyse the cost and returns of coconut production newline4. To study the resource use efficiency and to compute returns to scale. newline5. To evaluate the capital productivity of coconut cultivation. newline6. To study the temporal variations in prices of coconut. newline7. To evaluate marketing cost, marketing margin, price-spread and marketing efficiency of different channels. newline8. To analyse the problems encountered in the cultivation and marketing of coconut by the growers and to suggest suitable solutions to solve them. newlineCollection of Data newline The present study is based on both primary and secondary data. newlineStatistical tools used newlineCobb-Duglas type function, Simple regression equation, Exponential function, Co-efficient of variation, Garrett s ranking technique, Capital budgeting techniques, Time Series analysis using multiplicative model and percentage analysis etc have been used. newlineSampling Design newline Multi stage Random sampling has been used to collect data from the coconut growers and convenient sampling method has been used to collect, data from middlemen. newline
