Abstract: Woman in India has been an evolving phenomenon since time immemorial. From newlineonce worshiped as divine and pure creatures, to the medieval roles of child bearing and newlinerearing, and now to the contemporary portrayal of power and resistance, the women in newlineIndia have changed myriad social roles over the past. However, the social presence of newlineIndian women has got much more significance in today s developing times. Where newlineuntil lately, they were shadowed by patriarchal dominance, the contemporary women in newlineIndia have moved beyond all social boundaries to emerge as triumphant leaders. newlineFollowing any disaster, many women have become widows with young children. newlineWomen are now dealing with the grief of having lost their spouses along with the newlineburden of increased responsibility towards their surviving family. These are what some newlineof the women who survived Earthquake had to share. In many situations, there are newlinewomen who have not seen the dead bodies of their spouses after the disaster. This has newlineadded to their grief and pain by not providing an emotional Closure (Disaster newlinemanagement Manual, Bangalore). newlineThe self help groups are playing a vital role in molding the personality in rural newlinewomen. The self-help groups are stimulating the rural women in such a way that the newlinewomen try to express their abilities in terms of livelihood activities by getting various newlinetechnical training after the natural disasters. Therefore it is scientific research to focus newlineOverall quality of life, family mobility and family domination at Kutch Bhuj (Gujarat newlineState ) and Nagapatinam Districts (Tamil Nadu State). newlineIn order to furnish the research that researcher had used proportionate Stratified newlinerandom sampling techniques. More over to collect in depth study the researcher newlineadopted mixed methodology (Sequential Explanatory Strategy). It is a popular strategy newlinefor mixed methodology design. In this research study the researcher collected newlineinformation from the respondents using both quantitative and qualitative techniques. newline
